In the fourth leg of The Amazing Race the eight remaining teams travelled from Paraguay to Turin, Italy. Though they were the fifth team to depart, Bopper and Mark quickly placed themselves at the back of the pack when they failed to follow directions. They were the only team on a later flight because they had to backtrack to a travel agency. As the first team to arrive at the Road Block, Art and JJ had the chance to attempt a Fast Forward that would send them directly to the Pit Stop. During the Fast Forward, Art had to land a remote control helicopter on a model of the Lingotto Building that was built on JJ's helmet. During the Road Block teams had to repel 120 feet down the inside of the Lingotto Building. If they failed to grab a clue on their descent within two minutes of the start time then they would have to complete the task again. Rachel continued to refer to Joey "Fitness" and Danny as "Jersey Shore".
Dave and Rachel argued about whether they should attempt the Fast Forward or the Road Block. As a helicopter pilot, Dave was confident that he could complete the challenge before Art and JJ but Rachel would not give him the opportunity. Jamie and Vanessa had to carry out the Road Block again because they missed the clue on their initial descent. Bopper and Mark struggled to find the Road Block location because for the first time during the race they did not have another team to follow. After the Road Block teams headed to the Museo Nazionale Dell'Automobile to search for the Ford 1916 Tin Lizzie and their next clue. Brendon and Rachel argued about parking even though they were asked to use park assist on the Ford Focus to complete the parallel parking for them. Rachel called him "embarrassing" and told him that she hated him as he threatened to quit the race.
The duo encountered more trouble after they found the clue and could not figure out what to do with the 2 cent Euro coin. Teams were supposed to figure out that the building on the coin was the Mole Antonelianna, the location of the clue for the Detour. During the Detour teams had a choice between "Clean that Statue" where they had to clean and restore a single statue, and "Name that Salami" where teams had to taste and identify 14 different salamis. Upon reading the clue Vanessa said "I haven't had that much salami since high school!" Brendon and Rachel continued to act like children as they called Ralph and Vanessa "the Ogre and the Triflin' Ho". During "Name that Salami" Rachel cried and Brendon quit the race yet again. Art and JJ sped past other teams and made it to the Pit Stop at Piazza Castello. As the first team yet again, they won $5,000 each. Brendon and Rachel went from 2nd to 6th place after this leg of the race and their constant fighting. Bopper and Mark were the last team to arrive. Art and JJ selflessly split their prize with Bopper, who needs the money to improve the health of his daughter.
