Just days after Whitney Houston's untimely death, "Glee" aired an episode featuring Amber Riley covering Houston's signature hit, "I Will Always Love You". Though not intended as a tribute episode, the producers dedicated it to Whitney with a simple message at the end of the show. Considering the impact of Houston's career and death on the world, "Glee" has decided to dedicate an entire episode featuring eight of the late singer's hits. No offense "American Idol", but this is one tribute I'm looking forward to.
"Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the worldâ™s most amazing singers. Very excited about this one.." – Lea Michele (Twitter)
Sources say the tribute will be different than the series' previous homages to Michael Jackson, Madonna and Britney Spears. Instead, the show will be more of a "lesson in how to say goodbye.â I can already fell the waterworks coming on. With several of the cast members graduating this year, the show will have Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer's characters and other seniors struggling with letting go. It will serve as a chance for the "Glee"Â cast to bid farewell to high school.
Obviously I see the girls tackling on a group number with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". It's too fun of a track to not include. Rumor has it that Klaine are dunzo when "Glee" returns in the Spring. Whit has so many ballads that would be very appropriate, but I'm going out on a limb and predicting Kurt belts out "Where Do Broken Hearts Go". With Riley doing a stellar job on "I Will Always Love You", it would be a disservice if she doesn't get another solo. I hope they give her "I'm Every Woman". She's the only one on the cast that do that track any justice. Do you have any predictions on what songs will be included? If so, share them below in the comments section.
