The first movie trailer for 'On the Road' has just debuted and we've got your first look at the "book-to-movie" film. An adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel of the same name, the film stars the talented Sam Riley as Sal Paradise and the sexy Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty. It also stars Kristin Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, among many other familiar faces.
The story is based on the years Jack Kerouac spent traveling America in the 1940s with his friend Neal Cassady (aka the "Beat Generation") and several other characters who would become famous in their own right, including William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg.
The cast had to undergo a three-week "beatnik boot camp," which involved reading the literature pertaining to the Beat Generation and was led by Kerouac biographer, Gerald Nicosia. I haven't read the book but the film looks quite interesting. Check out the trailer below.
