The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are eight short days away, and with the small screen dominating the water cooler conversations this past year, there’s no doubt that there will be many tuning in on August 25. The 2014 Creative Arts Emmys were announced yesterday at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Find out who won for their special categories after the jump.
If you look at it as a number game, HBO dominated the competition with 15 wins last night thanks in part to Game of Thrones and True Detective receiving four awards each. NBC followed with 10 wins, and PBS with eight. Fox and Netflix tied with seven, CBS with six, and ABC with five.
The biggest winner of the evening went to Saturday Night Live with five wins, with Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey and Sherlock: His Last Vow each receiving four Emmys. Also awarded the special 2014 Governor’s Award was Marion Dougherty (All in the Family) who was honored posthumously.
