helberg.jpgTable reads will happen today for Season 8 of The Big Bang Theory. Co-stars Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar finalized their new contracts for the next three seasons at the zero hour on Tuesday afternoon. Earlier this week, Big Bang Theory’s higher-profile stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, all signed lucrative contracts earning them $1 million per episode for seasons 8-10. They were previously making $350,000 per episode. Helberg and Nayyar had last negotiated new salaries, also after Galecki, Parsons and Cuoco-Sweeting, and got a raise to $100,000 per episode of CBS’s number one comedy.

Over the years, the two supporting characters have basically become co-stars, serving important roles on par with Galecki, Parsons and Cuoco-Sweeting. They play best friends of Galecki and Parsons characters, Howard and Kunal. Their new contracts will earn them about $750,000 per episode. The duo will later earn their own $1 million episode salaries in the show’s tenth season, after which everyone’s contracts expire again. At that point, CBS and the show’s producer, Warner Bros. TV, will decide how much it will pay to give the show an eleventh season Helberg and Nayyar will earn the same syndication percentages as their co-stars.

Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik, the supporting actors who play prominent roles in the ensemble cast as well, renegotiated their contracts back in the fall to earn only $60,000 per episode for Season 8. They’ll be in a position to renew their contracts next season and in light of the high-anxiety dealmaking this summer, it would not be surprising to see the actresses receive a large pay increase next year. In the meantime, they will see their other cast mates earning tens of millions of dollars this season at Wednesday’s table read. Season 8 of The Big Bang Theory premieres on September 22, a Monday, before switching back to its usual slot on Thursday nights.
